The Adversity Quotient is an interesting topic to discuss and build on on a personal level and in teams. First is bringing awareness to the possibility of adversity even in the most successful business or in the most optimistic person. How I personally develop it? I always consider the risk of something not going as planned and I analyze the consequences and come up with a Plan B. Same in business, building a team's AQ is discussing it within the team as the team builds and not only when faced with adversity. It's like a mental preparation of all possible scenarios. Does this makes sense?

To me it always matters the ability to extrapolate to the personal life…

That's exactly it Sebastian! Thank you for pointing that out. I remember reading your first post and what spoke to me was the following: "leadership is an endless journey deep within ourselves" and "lead yourself-learn to live; lead other-learn to build". These 2 profound concepts I see in each and every piece of your writing and it's the reason I'm here every week reading and reflecting and applying the learnings to my personal life and in business. Thank you for all the work you put in week by week creating a community of amazing leaders and human beings!

This is a very practical approach, Minodora. I mean the exercise of planning for various scenarios. There’s a great value in that!

Thank you for introducing the concept of AQ into my worldview, Sebastian! It’s a very captivating topic and I truly appreciated how you developed on different aspects of it. I think that the attitude is a key to facing anything that life throws our way. I like to think of the life journeys as experiments, so regardless of the outcome, we still learn a great deal about ourselves and the world. I find that such attitude helps face adversity in all its shapes. Excellent post! By the way, love how you end the post with a beautiful piece of music!

Thank you very much Oksana for the feedback! It was an inspiring post to be honest… I loved the Ford quote and when I found the right image, the one of that plane charging against the weather… I got it!

I’m curious to think how you could apply this with your team and on the music front… glad you find it different, more intimate, to share some of my music… what did you like most?

Yes, the plane analogy was genius! I especially like the description of the Hubris Born of Success part. For some reason, it really resonated as a great caution, something to be aware of. This will definitely be incorporated into teamwork.

“Only the paranoid survive” it’s a great quote (of course if understood in a healthy way) that I used in earlier posts about the importance of never believe one is too good or has reached a particular place of success… it’s a day at a time but more important it’s about the ability to listen and understand what happens around in order to be mentally nimble ready to adapt and grow… I’m very glad you liked it and that you will find practical value. I’ll have the Best of the Month “Pearl of Wisdom” out with the most insightful note possible
