“And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself?”
Rumi
The essence of these words lie in the power of self-reflection and self-discovery, in the importance of cultivating self-awareness.
It’s easy to get caught in the vicious circle of seeking external validation. However, true fulfillment stems from understanding ourselves at a deeper level.
It's about taking the time to explore our values, fears, and dreams to gain clarity, find purpose and be at peace.
Create moments of solitude, read, write, paint, listen to music, walk, think… reflect upon your life experiences. Practice drawing energy from within.
Learn to be alone with your thoughts.
What are your strengths and weaknesses? What feedback have you heard repeteatedly where you seem not to make progress? What brings you joy, what drains your energy, how resilient you really are? Be willing to challenge your beliefs and test your assumptions every step of the way, without losing yourself in the process, but without lying to yourself either.
The journey into oneself is a lifelong adventure (with highs and lows) that requires patience, self-compassion, and a genuine desire for personal growth.
Take that first step today, now… It doesn’t need to be perfect, just ask yourself for permission and go.
“Lead yourself, Learn to live. Lead others, Learn to Build.”

There's so much wisdom and truth in these words and reflections on the never ending journey within ourselves...also great questions to ask oneself with a more regular frequency... checking in with yourself and answer the difficult questions...it takes practice and humility. Reading this article and reflecting on it, I remembered the lyrics of Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero song that fit with this topic: "I stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror..." It's not an easy task to look in the mirror and see the real you but it's worthwhile in the long run! Thank you Sebastian for writing this.
