- 'Is there any unknown teaching?'
- 'Yes. It's no Mind, no Buddha, no Things.'
The koan of "no-mind" challenges us to let go of our thoughts and emotions, it invites us to simply be. It reminds us of being present in the moment, open to listen all perspectives and suspend judgement.
From this perspective, when the mind lacks self-awareness, calmness reigns undisturbed by emotion. This is the idea of “the original mind,” not the current mind, one that flows ceaselessly, untouched by the delusions that breed emotions. It’s a mind that remains in constant motion, never solidifying in rigid ways or discriminating thoughts, just flowing.
Without preferences to dictate its course, the no-mind permeates every fiber of the being, never finding a resting place. It pulses with life, always in motion, never still. This essence, also known as 'no-thought,' embodies the spirit of 'mushin' – a mind of clarity and boundless potential."
By quieting our minds, we can tap into our intuition and make better decisions.
